The authors consider the Banach manifold \(G^+\) of positive elements in the group \(G\) of invertible elements in a unital \(C^*\) algebra. The geometric properties of this manifold with Finsler metric are studied. This structure is compared with the structure of the cone \(A^+\) of positive elements in \(A\). In particular, a differentiable structure on \(A^+\) has been studied.
