The authors consider the integration of time-discretized mechanical problems, develop a domain boundary element method for a system of nonlinear restoring forces, and discuss numerical stability and accuracy of this method. The results obtained by the method under consideration are compared with results obtained by the Newmark method and cubic Hermitian method when applied to the undamped Duffing oscillator. The paper closes with a discussion of a rotodynamic system with variable mass.
