The author proves well-posedness of the Cauchy problem to weakly hyperbolic higher order linear equation with time-dependent coefficients. To do that, he generalizes Tarama-Shiozaki's method, splits the given interval \((0,T)\) into several intervals, on which he deduces the necessary energy estimates. Some examples treated by other authors are given here in view of the proved results.
