The authors investigate the motion of a Coriolis-based gyroscope with a vibrating shell. Taking into account the geometric nonlinearities, they develop a nonlinear three-mode model of the gyroscope, and apply the method of multiple scales to its analysis. Numerical results are presented for a reduced model.
