In this paper, after defining a stratification of the singular locus in the base space of a versal deformation of a torsion-free module over \(k[[x,y]]\), by projecting a Fitting stratification of the total space, one shows that the strata are irreducible. One applies the results to torsion-free sheaves on \(\mathbb{P}^2\).
