A new approach for solving linear time dependent differential algebraic equations (DAEs) using Runge-Kutta methods is proposed. This new approach is based on using the underlying quadrature associated with a Runge-Kutta method on each of the intervals \([t_n,t_n+ c_ih]\), where the \(c_i\) are the abscissae of the method. Order and stability properties of these methods are studied when the DAEs are transformable to the constant coefficient case.
