The author studies the solvability of boundary value problems describing the deformation of annular membranes of revolution under the assumptions of a fully nonlinear strain-displacement relation together with linear stress-strain constitutive law. Four basic boundary value problems are considered which model the stressed states inside the membranes with edges subjected to stress or displacement boundary conditions. After introducing the so-called regular tensile solutions, the author solves the boundary value problem for displacements. Finally, it is shown that the boundary value problem for stresses possesses wrinkle-free solutions.
