The author surveys some geometric constructions and notions in multifractal analysis of measures, with a particular emphasis on the multifractal formalism introduced by \textit{J. Peyrière} [NATO ASI Ser., Ser. C 372, 175-186 (1992; MR 93i:28005)] and the author [Advances Math. 116, No.1, 82-196 (1995; Zbl 0841.28012)]. He shows that this formalism leads to a multifractal geometry for product measures, for slices of measures, and for intersections of measures.
