When \(m\)-dimensional discrete data are projected on 2-dimensional scatterplot the result points lie on a 2-d grid. It is impossible to determine visually how many observations coincide on the same grid point. The author propose three possibilities to solve this problem: random jittering; sizing of the grid points; use of special symbols. The examples of PC-ISP made scatterplots to demonstrate these proposals.
