The author establishes the definition and the existence of the refined notions of an involutive algebra and a \(C^*\)-complexification, and presents a comparison theory for a parallel study between commutative real complete normed algebras and the corresponding complex involutive algebras. For example, he shows that every complex \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) is isometrically \(*\)-isomorphic onto the \(C^*\)-complexification \(QH({\mathcal A})\) of the real part of itself.
