The author considers a stationary free boundary problem for the Navier-Stokes equations which models the fall of a drop in a liquid medium. The unknowns of the problem are the velocity and the pressure inside and outside the drop, the surface of the drop and the (constant) velocity of the fall. The author proves the existence of a symmetric solution in two and three space dimensions provided that the densities of both liquids are close to each other.
