The notion of similarity of Markovian arrival processes (MAPs) is introduced. The event stationary point processes corresponding to two similar MAPs are seen to be stochastically equivalent. Examples of similar two-state MAPs and their point processes are presented. For a given two-state MAP the set of all similar ones is characterized.
