\textit{S. K. Stein} [Math. Ann. 134, 289-294 (1958; Zbl 0084.04302)], \textit{Š. Znám} [ibid. 180, 227-232 (1969; Zbl 0169.37405)] and the reviewer [Mat. Čas., Slovensk. Akad. Vied. 22, 208-214 (1972; Zbl 0238.10040)] using analytic means characterized disjoint covering systems (DJS) of congruences with precisely one multiple modulus, the multiplicity of which does not exceed 6. Later \textit{M. A. Berger, A. Felzenbaum} and \textit{A. S. Fraenkel} [Acta Arith. 50, 171-182 (1988; Zbl 0647.10005)] using their parallelotope partitions approach characterized DJSs with precisely one multiple modulus, the multiplicity of which does not exceed 9. In the paper under review using the latter approach the characterization is extended to 12.
