The authors analyse the wave attenuation to gain a better understanding of the localization phenomena in the disturbance region of a PTZ actuator-sensor. A methodology is proposed to study the effect of structural damping on the energy dissipation of structural vibrations. It is shown that the energy localization of the induced propagating wave occurs mainly at structural bolted connections.
