The author proves global approximate controllability in \(L^2\) norm for a class of semilinear heat equations with superlinear terms in several space dimensions. The proof is based on the idea of suppressing the effect of nonlinearity by applying the actual control only for an asymptotically short period in time. Certain a priori estimates for the corresponding linear problem are also needed.
