The author proposes an improved technique for finding the optimal structure of a most reliable \(n\)-component series-parallel system, whose components are subject to statistically independent failures of two types: ``open-circuit'' and ``short-circuit''. The resulting algorithm allows to obtain solutions for large values of \(n\).
