The authors have analyzed some aspects of the application of upwind implicit finite-difference approximations to the initial boundary value problem for hyperbolic systems of equations. An algorithm for constructing finite-difference schemes that are conservative in the entire domain of computation, which includes the nodes at its boundary, is proposed. A corresponding algorithm for approximating boundary compatibility conditions is developed.
