An iterative scheme for two-dimensional MHD equations with account for the Hall effect (Q1974758)

When the characteristic scale of plasma flow is comparable to the ion dispersion dimension, the Hall effect must be included in the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) description of plasma. In this paper an implicit scheme is proposed for two-dimensional MHD equations with an account for the Hall effect. An iterative process is required to implement this scheme. This scheme is considerably more efficient than explicit algorithms.
