The authors comment on some previous results relevant to their paper named in the title [ibid. 86, No. 1, 1-37 (1997; Zbl 0887.46008)], in which they consider the problem of completeness and basis properties of the system \(\{\varphi(nx)\},\) where \(\varphi(x)=\sum_{n=1}^\infty a_n \sin nx\), \(\sum |a_n|^2<\infty.\)
