The authors consider some approaches to the analysis of transient processes in open waveguide resonators. These approaches are based on the description of scattering properties of irregularities in regular waveguides in terms of the transformation operators of the evolutionary basis of an unsteady signal, which is common for all guiding structures, and use formally correct computational techniques of the analytical-regularization method at key stages of the solution construction. The prototypes of such approaches in the frequency domain are widely known. The present work is the first to perform a modification of these approaches with account for specific features of the time domain.
