In the first part of this note the author characterizes the curvature axis of a ruled surface in a natural way by a simple equation using the analytical representation of this surface in Plücker coordinates. In the second part this result is translated for a space curve. Especially if, in a point of the curve, the torsion is zero the curvature axis is interpreted geometrically.
