The present paper is devoted to the discussion of the well-known continuation method for the numerical integration of the self-similar Zakharov equations. The author illustrates the possibilities of this method by constructing a solution for the self-similar subsonic Langmuir soliton. The basic ideas of the continuation method are given as applied to solving a set of first-order ordinary differential equations. One new solution for the subsonic Langmuir collapse and the Langmuir solution is obtained by means of this method.
