In this paper the author considers contrast structures solutions described by various singularly perturbed partial differential equations. For a parabolic system of two singularly perturbed equations with derivatives multiplied by different powers of a small parameter, asymptotic expansions of solutions characterized by spikelike behavior of one or both components in the neighborhood of a time-dependent point are constructed.
