Solution of the initial boundary value problem for the relativistic string with massive ends (Q1975769)

The present work is focused on the model of relativistic string with massive ends, which was suggested as a model for the two-quark system bound by strong interaction. Analysis of the motion of such a string involves certain difficulties. In particular, the quantization procedure developed for other string models is not applicable here. This is a consequence of essentially nonlinear boundary conditions wich generally cause the string with massiv ends to execute an aperiodic motion. Some methods designed for numerical analysis of this motion are presented.
