Methods of adaptive harmonic grid generation (Q1975785)

The authors present a review of the literature on elliptic methods for generating curvilinear grids that ensure one-to-oneness of a mapping. Methods for generating grids in two-dimensional domains, on surfaces, and in the three-dimensional domains space are considered. A possibility of generalizing the method of \textit{A. M. Winslow} [J. Comput. Phys. 1, 149-172 (1966; Zbl 0254.65069)] on the basis of the theory of harmonic mappings of surfaces is discussed.
