The author studies the three body-problem Sun-Jupiter-astroid. A realistic symplectic model has been constructed in the form of a Poincaré map of the three-dimensional problem. The model is valid at the 2:1 mean motion resonance of the asteroid. The dynamics of this resonance has been made clear.
