GG functions and their relations to general hypergeometric functions (Q1976391)

This paper is a survey of recent work of the authors [Russian Math. Surveys 52, No. 4, 639-684 (1997; Zbl 0922.33010)] on a class of generalized hypergeometric functions in several variables which is bigger than that of the \(A\)-hypergeometric functions of \textit{I. M. Gel'fand}, \textit{V. A. Vasil'ev} and \textit{A. V. Zelevinskij} [Funct. Anal. App. 21, 19-31 (1987; Zbl 0625.33006)]. They point out that these functions coincide with the quasihypergeometric functions considered by \textit{K. Aomoto} and \textit{K. Iguchi} [see, e.g., Contemp. Math. (to appear)].
