It is known that the Lie-Trotter product formula fails for sums of \(m\)-accretive operators in the nonlinear sense. In this note the authors construct a strongly continuous semigroup generated by the closure of the sum of the generators of two semigroups such that the Lie-Trotter product formula does not hold.
