The author proposes mathematical models of optimization at shakedown, in the case when the history of loading is either unknown or neglected. If the constraints on the structure rigidity are eliminated, an optimal solution for cyclic plastic failure can be obtained, and solutions for monotonically increasing loading and for elastic design problems can be easily derived. Unfortunately, the paper contains no numerical example for illustration.
