The author starts up an analysis of the rate of convergence for attracting sets with arbitrary rate of attraction. Necessary and sufficient conditions for certain rates of convergence are derived. They can be seen as generalizations of the exponential properties. Some applications, concerning the estimates for the semicontinuous discretization error for one step discretization of arbitrary sets are carried out.
