The authors generalize a result of R. J. M. Hornblower on the boundary behaviour of subharmonic functions in the unit disc of the complex plane. They prove that these results are also true in a much more general setting of linear axiomatic potential theory. Let us observe that applications to differential operators and in particular to some uniformly elliptic second order operators in divergence form are considered.
