Almost continuous functions have been studied by a number of authors. It turned out that the classical concept of almost continuity is too restrictive to obtain new results in fixed point theory. The author modifies the definition of almost continuity in order to get some new results. The results are not included. This note is a report on the talk delivered by the author at Chattanooga Symposium.
