The following problem is considered. What are the weakest assumptions on topological spaces \(X, Y\), and \(Z\), and on generalized continuity types of the sections \(f_x\) and \(f_y\) of a function \(f: X\times Y\rightarrow Z\) such that \(f\) has at least one point of (generalized) joint continuity. Typical result: If \(X, Y\) are locally connected, and \(f\) is separately \(O\)-connected, then \(f\) is \(O\)-connected. Here a function \(f\) is defined to be \(O\)-connected if \(f(V)\) is connected for any open connected set \(V\). Other results involve, e.g., quasi-continuity, and quasi-\(w^*\)-continuity.
