The author investigates autonomous retarded functional differential equations with nonlinearities consisting of elementary functions. He shows the existence of an embedding which yields the auxiliary polynomial differential equation for these retarded differential equations. The relationship between the dynamics of the original and the auxiliary polynomial differential equation is then characterized. Some applications and dynamical features are also presented.
