In this paper the authors consider the occipital bone fracture reconstruction by means of cubic B-spline curves.\par Mathematical morphology is adopted to get the boundary of the CT scan image, which is required to find the control points of the B-splines.\par A graphical user interface (GUI) has been developed which exploits knot points as the only input.\par In the GUI, the number of knot points, as well as their positions, can be differently and easily selected, in order to better adapt and adjust the boundary curves of the fractured parts.\par A case study is explicitly presented, which shows how to apply and validate the proposed method. It turns out that the considered approach is efficient, user friendly, and works well both for small and for large fractured parts
