The purpose of this paper is to present an algorithm for computing the Hilbert-Samuel multiplicity \(e_R(J)\) of \(m\)-primary ideals of a local ring \((R,m,K)\) when \(R=K[[X]]/I\) is a quotient of a formal power series \(K[[X]]=K[[X_1,\ldots,X_n]]\) and \(R\) is Cohen-Macaulay.
