The computation of numerical solutions of two-dimensional non-stationary Navier-Stokes equations is a difficult problem, especially when the computational domains have an irregular shape. The main task of this paper is the application of a Crank-Nicolson finite spectral element method for the above class of differential equations. The series of numerical experiments confirms a good performance and stability (in comparison with the conventional Crank-Nicolson finite spectral element).
