The paper addresses one-dimensional Klein-Gordon and diffusion equations in which, respectively, the mass parameter and diffusion coefficient are defined as stepwise functions which jumps between different constant values at a critical value of the wave field governed by the equations. Various exact stationary solutions of the equations are constructed, with jumps of the first derivative at the critical value.
