The main result of the paper is the uniqueness of the classical Finn-Smith solution of the stationary exterior Navier-Stokes problem for an incompressible viscous fluid flow past an obstacle in the plane. This is proved for small Reynolds numbers and solutions with finite Dirichlet integral.
