Let \(X\) be an abelian group and let \(f\) and \(g\) be two positive functions on \(X\) satisfying the Kac-Bernstein functional equation \[ f(x + y)g(x- y) = f(x)f(y)g(x)g(-y),\ x,y\in X. \] The author constructs solutions of the above functional equation in the class of complex-valued Hermitian functions.
