The authors answer a question from [\textit{V.~V. Fávaro} et al., Bull. Braz. Math. Soc. (N.S.) 51, No.~1, 27--46 (2020; Zbl 1443.15002)] on the lineability of the set of non surjective continuous linear operators between sequence spaces. More precisely, they show that the set \[ D:=\left\{ u\colon\ell_{p}\rightarrow\ell_{q}:u \text{ is linear, continuous and non-surjective}\right\} \] is \(\left( 1,\mathfrak{c}\right) \)-lineable, regardless of the \(p,q\geq1\). In fact, the technique invented by the authors allows them to prove this result in a more general environment of sequence spaces.
