Summary: Black hole is a term which fascinates many for its philosophical consequences, yet puzzles those who wonder how such a thing could possibly exist. We will survey the historical passage for the theory of relativity, and try to demonstrate the inevitability of the concept of black hole, once we accept the Einstein equation and its geometric content.
