In this short note, the author announces a talk, which is based on joint work with Jeong-Yup Lee. The connection between aperiodic Penrose tilings and Taylor-Socolar tilings is shown directly. Both tilings are related to the geometry of Coxeter Euclidean kaleidoscope, which gives an idea how to create new substitution tilings. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1459.37002].
