A differential algebraic polynomial fuzzy control system is considered with time delay and uncertain parameters. A sliding mode observer is introduced and sliding surfaces for the error system are considered. Sufficient conditions for stability and robust passivity of the sliding mode dynamics are proved. Under appropriate sliding mode controllers, finite time reachability of the sliding surfaces is obtained.
