The author reports on derivations of continuum models where a cloud of particles interacts with a viscous fluid. He reviews recent results on the derivation of so-called Stokes-Brinkman models and give insights in some of the used analytical tools. Possible extension of the employed arguments (to the case of the Darcy regime) is also indicated.
