In this paper a nonlinear, hyperbolic, first-order integro-partial differential equation with integral boundary condition is considered. Through a generalized spectral analysis a nonlinear mapping is defined, which decomposes the integro-partial differential equation into an ordinary differential equation and an integro-differential equation. In particular, a nonlinear input/output-normal form of the integro-partial differential equation can be stated which is used to design an inversion-based feedforward control. To compensate the influence of the integro-differential equation on the output a feedback controller is designed. Global exponential attractivity of certain reference trajectories is proven and the closed-loop dynamics are simulated.
