New polynomial invariants of knotoids and the theory of polar knots (Q2071300)

In the paper under review, the author introduces and studies polynomial invariants for knotoids. Specifically, these invariants are defined for both planar and spherical knotoids. The author is able to accomplish this via Kauffman bracketology in order to define isotropy invariants for 2-polar knots. This then allows the author to define a polynomial invariant of both planar knotoids and planar 2-polar knots. One use of this invariant is that it is able to distinguish between a knotoid and its reverse. The paper concludes with several conjectures and open problems.
