In this article the main differences between envelopes and offsets of two algebraic plane curves are discussed, not only from a theoretical point of view but also from a computational one. The study includes a new construction of Talbot curves. Computation are performed with Geogebra as dynamical geometry systems (DGS) and Maple as Computer algebra (CAS). Undoubtedly, the use of both tools complement each other giving a new vision to geometrical problems.
