The author obtains the mapping properties of the fractional geometric maximal functions on Morrey spaces with variable exponents by the extrapolation theory. Different from the traditional method which requires the validity of the weighted norm inequalities for all weights belonging to \(A_1\), the author gives a refined version which just requires the validity of the weighted norm inequalities for a subset only.
