In this paper, the author studies the relation between mutation and the Goeritz matrix of a link diagram. He proves that a link type is determined by its diagram's adjusted Goeritz matrix up to mutation. That means that Conway equivalence and Goeritz equivalence are the same. Also he extends the discussion to oriented links.
